Naomi McSwain, executive director, has more than 20 years in nonprofit management, including more than 10 years as a youth center executive director. She has a BA degree in journalism from CSU Northridge, and an MA in intercultural studies with an emphasis in children at risk from Fuller Theological Seminary where she completed her thesis on gang prevention in Los Angeles. She is a graduate of Compass Point's Fundraising Academy for Communities of Color and The Grantmanship Center's Project Grantmanship. Naomi formerly worked as a reporter for the Wave Newspapers, Pasadena Star-News and PBS Frontline. Covering gangs and education, she was inspired to address the issues she wrote about. Her community work includes serving as executive director of a youth center in Moreno Valley and as a youth development consultant for World Vision U.S.
